If my wife and I end up getting to the point where our only options are to foreclosure on our home, debt settlement program or bankruptcy, whioh would you suggest? We have over $70,000 in unsecured debt and we are having a difficult time in making ends meet. We have contacted our home lender to see if we could modify our home loan but basically were told that unless we are 3-4 months behind on our mortgage there wasn't anything they could do. What would you recommend? Please help!
Answer: That is a difficult decision to make. The last thing you want to do is face foreclosure on your home. If you could work with Consumer Credit Counseling Services before you face bankruptcy that will help tremendously. CCCS will help you work with your unsecured lenders to make payment arrangements and help you consolidate your debt. If you and your wife have the opportunity we would love for you to stop in to any CommunityAmerica branch and we would be more than willing to sit down with you and your wife to create a budget and put together a plan to attack your debt.
Question: I am beside myself with worry and debt after the death of my fiance, some my fault and some his, but i cant pay my bills and i need help. i need credit councelling so i can pay my credit cards off without ruining my credit any worse than it is, i need to just pay one lump sum a month and i need help with that. also i cant find where i can enter into the contest to have community america help me for a year--i really need it, i cant take the stress and hopelessness anymore. thank you very much.
Answer: The best place to start is to come in to any branch at CommunityAmerica Credit Union and ask for some budgeting help. We are always willing to help anyone that wants it. Debt can be cumbersome and sitting down with someone with a fresh pair of eye is always helpful. This person can help find options to possibly consolidate your payments and find ways to cut your expenses so you can make your payments. Unfortunately the deadline for the Financial Makeover has past, but we at CommunityAmerica Credit Union are still willing to coach you through your hard time.
Question: When I make a deposit into my checking account, how long before that money is available to either take out as cash or use to cover any outstanding checks/incoming bills?
Answer:
Depending on the amount of the check and what corresponding funds you have on deposit, there may or may not be a hold. If you are depositing cash, the funds will be available at that time as long as your account is current.
